About me...

I'm a journalist from the seaside town of Kinsale, County Cork. I first visited San Francisco when I was college and made the decision to move here permanently in 2022. Once I saw that bridge, there was no going back.

I've been writing  since I was 19 years old and worked my way up from local to national papers in Ireland over the course of my career. I was accepted into the prestigious Irish Times Entry Level program upon graduating from my MA studies at DCU and spent time working across lifestyle, sport, breaking news, local news and business.

I further built upon those skills in the US at the Bay Area News Group and Reach PLC, where I wrote about everything from local elections to the science behind the perfect pint of Guinness.

My real passion has always been in the kitchen. Some kids played with go carts growing up; I spent my time mixing soda bread with my Nana in West Cork, waitressing in my mom's restaurant and packaging up corned beef with my dad at his pub. Now I bake at home, write food articles at Tasting Table, and I work part-time at the esteemed Butter & Crumble. I also create newsletters for local restaurants.
